Traveling Just Got A Little Harder, TSA Adds Powder Restriction to Luggage Rules
We've been trained to measure our liquids when packing but now it looks like we will have to measure our powders as well.
I've been flying since I was a baby, so I truly do understand the need for restrictions on the air for our safety, but it's always a bummer to realize you need to check everything in your carry-on before you end up going through security and they throw out one of your favorite items.
I will never forget when I had to toss a yogurt and a make-up brush shampoo at the Des Moines airport. It was a sad day.
So what's changing now? The amount of powder we can carry on to flights.
According to Travel & Leisure, the powder rule goes into effect this Saturday, June 30. Powders include make-up, protein powder, baby powder and the like and must be limited to 12 ounces.
For make-up lovers, this should be fine, 12 ounces of make-up should last a full month let alone a short trip, but other powders, like protein, you have to check your containers.
How awful would you feel dumping an entire bottle of protein in the garbage by security. That stuff is expensive!
For the most part this is for flights coming into the United States, but chances are you might travel to another country soon, or this powder rule will come to domestic flights as well.
