Okay, to be fair, the pumpkin pie is a bit more than gourd scrapings. You might want some Cool Whip, too.
However you choose to enjoy it, a new report conducted by Offers.com detailing the favorite holiday treats of all 50 states, says that pumpkin pie is America's favorite.
By a wide margin.
33% of Americans said pumpkin pie is their number-one holiday food pleasure.
Here in the Midwest, it's almost unanimous:
- Illinois: Pumpkin Pie
- Iowa: Pumpkin Pie
- Michigan: Pumpkin Pie
- Wisconsin: Pumpkin Pie
- Minnesota: Pumpkin Pie
- Kentucky: Pumpkin Pie
- Indiana: Pumpkin Pie
- Missouri: Peppermint Bark
According to Offers.com:
Pumpkin pie is the preference of midwesterners, while the northeast enjoys eggnog. Only Arizona and Alaska prefer the timelessness of the candy cane.

- Pumpkin pie: 33%
- Eggnog: 18%
- Peppermint bark: 16%
- Gingerbread: 13%
- Fruitcake: 11%
- Candy canes: 9%
