My idea of paradise is a place where I can eat chocolate all day, every day, without gaining an ounce. In my mind, no meal is complete without a little taste of chocolate at the end of it, and if I don't get it, bad things will happen. Ok, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point, I super love chocolate.

Now that we've established I have a major sweet tooth, I now need to admit that I was today years old when I learned that there is a restaurant in Gurnee, Illinois called The Chocolate Sanctuary that legit might be the place my dreams are made of.

It's Way More Than Just Desserts at The Chocolate Sanctuary in Gurnee

Big thanks to onlyinyourstate.com for giving me a heads up that this restaurant exists, and that it's only a short drive from Rockford. Now, let's talk about the food.

Sure, The Chocolate Sanctuary has decadent desserts to indulge in, but what really makes the restaurant so special is that almost all of their dishes include some form of cocoa as an ingredient.

Chocolate-infused cocktails? Yup, they've got that.

Delicious Sunday Brunch options? OMG, yes!

Here's the way I see it; it's been a rough year and we have more than earned an excuse to treat ourselves. Whether you already have a trip planned to Gurnee soon, or if you just want an excuse to take a little trip, The Chocolate Sanctuary definitely needs to be on the itinerary. Check out their full menu here so you're ahead of the game when you get there, choosing what to order may be tough.
