This is the season for giving and one of the most important things you can give is your blood.

The Rock River Blood Center has been operating at very low levels all year and this cluster of blood drives could really help them out heading into the new year.

Here is the list of drives going on this week:

  • December 4 - Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle - 3-7PM
  • December 4 - Cherry Valley UMC, Cherry Valley - 2:30-6:30PM
  • December 5 - Wal-Mart Supercenter, Belvidere - 2-6PM
  • December 6 - Beloit Community Center, Beloit - 8-1PM
  • December 6 - Field Fastner Supply Company, Machesney Park - 1:30-4PM
  • December 7 - Southern Imperial Inc., Rockford - 11:30-4PM
  • December 7 - Aquin Catholic High School, Freeport - 8-2PM
  • December 8 - Winnebago High School, Winnebago - 7:30-2PM
  • December 9 - U.S. Marines & Army Center, Rockford - 9-1:30PM

All drives are open to the public. Walk-ins are welcome. More information on each drive can be found online here.

I'd also like to remind people that it's pretty much pain free. This is coming from someone who used to be deathly afraid of needles. After going through some medical procedures this past year I can attest to the fact that these nurses have gotten way better at it and the needles are now sharper than ever, I rarely even feel the small prick when they go in.

It's one of the easiest ways to save a life. Please donate if you can.
