You won't have to travel far to find the most romantic spot in Illinois. It's right off of Rt. 251 across from Sinnissippi.

TravelAndLeisure - Couple who appreciate nature but don't necessarily want to venture outside when it's cold out can find romance in a greenhouse. The Nicholas Conservatory in Rockford, Illinois is a perfect indoor escape with butterflies, orchids and contemporary art installations. It's even possible to rent the entire space out after hours for an intimate evening underneath a glass atrium.

This will come as no surprise to locals who have visited Nicholas Conservatory, they know how beautiful it is. It seems that the rest of the state is starting to catch on. If you think you want to get married there in 5 years it might be time to put down the deposit.

If you've been there before and think you've already seen it all you are wrong and need to plan a trip back.

Right now the conservatory is lit up every night thanks to the brand new exhibit from Bruce Munro. It's a MUST see if you haven't already. Also, don't forget about Tunes on the Terrace every Tuesday night at 5 PM. You get live music and food provided by Francesco's.

Love is in the air over there. Be careful who you spend time with in the gardens, you might just marry them.
