For the 5th straight week, the national average price of gasoline has risen, posting a gain of 0.7 cents over the last week to $1.97 per gallon. Here in Rockford, it's different.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey's smackdown of the Houston area, we were warned that gas prices would certainly be on the rise because of the extensive damage and flooding to the gasoline refineries in that area. It was also suggested by some that higher prices and shortages could last for months. Only part of that came true.
Just when you thought it was safe to take a little break from thinking about taxes, we get a new report that details what we're spending on gas taxes. Looking it over, it seems that every day is tax day.
