Support Guilford’s Publications Program With Viking Bobblehead
Two Guilford graduates who are behind the creation of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum are also spearheading an effort to assist the Guilford Newspaper and Yearbook.
Phil Sklar and Brad Novak have introduced the first ever Rockford Guilford High School Viking bobblehead. Only 1,000 of the individually numbered bobbleheads are being made, with online orders now available at www.VikingBobbles.com. Five dollars from each bobblehead sold will benefit the Guilford High School student newspaper, The Voyager, and the Guilford Yearbook.
According to a press release, funds will be used for printing the newspaper and yearbook, which are completely self-supporting and receive no financial support from the school or district. Sklar says they came up with the idea over the summer upon reading that the Voyager was potentially going to get cut after 52 consecutive years of being in print.
Guilford Viking bobbleheads cost $15 and can be purchased at VikingBobbles.com using all major credit cards and PayPal. You also can call the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum at 800-414-1482. Bobbleheads can be mailed anywhere in the U.S. for $8, regardless of the number of bobbleheads ordered. They also will be available for pickup at no cost at the Insurance King location on 127 North Alpine Road in Rockford from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
