A high school in Utah has instituted a policy that will fine students that are consistently late to class. The question now is, should Rockford High Schools do this too?

According to WGN, Standsbury High School in Utah is now fining kids who are late to class. They say the fining system was put in place to encourage kids not to spend so much time goofing around in the hallways between classes, and so far the process has worked.

I get that tardiness in schools is a problem, but I can't help but wonder if fining students who are late is the most productive way to curb the problem. Let's be honest here. If you were a student who was about to be late to class, wouldn't you be tempted to just skip it all together to avoid the tardy fine? Pretty sure that would have been my logic as a high school student.

What do you think?
