Senior Bingo With The Rockford Police Is Back This Friday
The successful Senior Bingo Fridays is back with their fourth installment Friday morning.
WROK has been lucky enough to be invited back to help with the Rockford Police department's Senior Bingo event.
The games take place the first and thrid Friday of every month at District 1's brand new headquarters, located at 1045 W. State Street just outside of downtown Rockford. The bingo begins at 9:30 and will last until about 11.
There is no cost to play and winners receive prizes donated from local businesses. There are food gift certificates, car washes, gym memberships and more given away during each event.
If you've been thinking about attending but haven't pulled the trigger yet, you should sooner than later. Sergent Ross, who runs the event, has said that later in the year there will be a VIP game that will only be available to our more regular participants.
There's a limit of 80 participants each week, we haven't had to turn people away, but attendance has grown each week. Two weeks ago we had about 50 players.
I'll be there calling numbers, so make sure you bring a dollar or two to fill my tip jar. Just kidding, it'll take more than a couple of bucks for me to throw a bingo game. A man's got to live by some code.
Hope to see you there and good luck to all the participants.
