We closed the week on "Riley & Scot" with a visit from official Friend of the Program, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.

On our list of topics to cover with the Senator was the awful coverage by most media outlets of the release of the Scott Walker documents. The headlines blared, "Prosecutors: Scott Walker part of 'criminal scheme'" even though that theory of the case had been completely shot down by two different judges.

For a more in-depth look, read the appropriately-titled, "A Basic Primer On the Scott Walker Case For Ignorant Reporters" over at The Federalist.

We asked Senator Johnson what he thought about the coverage of the document release:

The scandal is with the prosecutors. The scandal is with the news media...It's a political witch hunt basically to deny individual Americans the right to free speech. That's what really happened here and Americans need to understand this. I think it's just scandalous the way the liberal news media is treating this. There's no criminal activity here and two courts have ruled that.

Here's our full interview with the Senator in which we also talk about Iraq, Hillary Clinton and Benghazi, student loan debt, and a photo contest his office is running:
