Rockford’s Alpine-Kiwanis Brat Days Are Coming Soon
Years ago, a friend from out of town visiting Rockford during Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days asked me this question: "So, Rockford's idea of a good time is hanging around a parking lot and eating bratwursts during the heat of the summer? Really?"
Yes, I pointed out, that really is our idea of a good time, and it has been for over half a century.
Over The Last 50-Plus Years, Alpine Kiwanis Has Given More Than $2 Million To Support Our Local Community
Alpine Kiwanis gives away 100% of of the proceeds from the annual Brat Days, and that two million dollars has gone directly to our area's great non-profits, and to Rockford-area students in the form of scholarships.
All proceeds from Brat Days will go to local nonprofits serving youth and children, the elderly, the disabled and for scholarships to high school seniors for post-secondary education.
All you need to do to make sure those donations keep rolling in is to eat your fill of brats over a couple of summer days. Is that so much to ask? I didn't think so.
