Rockford Police to Host Safety Camp for Kids

The Rockford Police Department is again partnering with with the Fire Department and the Park District to host its 3rd annual summer safety camp.

The free camp for kids entering the fourth and fifth grades are designed to teach children how to have summer "fun in the sun" in a safe and responsible way.  Activities include safety lessons in bicycle, fire, water, animal and internet usage.

The two-day sessions run from noon till 4pm throughout the city on the following dates.

• June 7-8 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church - 2209 Clifton Ave
• June 9-10 at Rockford First Church - 950 Spring Creek Rd
• August 2-3 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church - 604 Salter Ave
• August 4-5 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church - 3300 Rural St

Again there is no charge for the camp and snacks will be provided.
