Skare Park in Rochelle has been getting a lot of TLC from a group of Rochelle teens, the Interact Club, from planting trees, to cleaning up debris from last years tornado.

Now they need our help in repairing the park's bridges.

WREX reports that the teen group, Club Interact, is looking to raise $10,000 in order to repair the park's two deteriorating bridges so that those visiting the park can "fully experience the park."

The Interact Club is made up of 50 students that "take on costly projects within the community." This year the club has set their sights on Skare Park in Rochelle.

Earlier this year the club planted trees to replace those that were lost and destroyed from the April 9th tornado. "The park has 200-year-old trees and lost more than 500 trees during tornado."

Now they want to repair the bridges and are looking to raise $10,000.

One of the club leaders Paige Myroth said the bridges "will be accessible for all people and horse accessibility will also be available if we raise the money....It is really going to effect everyone in Rochelle."

Fellow club leader hunter Haggestad said that "We hope it will influence more young people to do stuff like this..."Show them what can be accomplished when young people work together."

The club has said that this pledge of $10,000 is the biggest fundraising effort they've ever done, but with the communities help they know it can be done. They're looking to start the repair and renovation process of the bridges by the end of April, in order for them to be in working order for the beginning of summer.

They're hope is to have all funding in by their deadline of April 27th. If they don't make their goal the club said that the bridges will not get fixed.

At last review before posting this story the Interact Club has raised just over $2,200.
