Looking for a fun and educational way to spend your children’s spring break? Look no further than the Discovery Center Museum in Rockford. The museum is hosting a two-week event, Spring Into Science, featuring exciting activities and playful learning experiences for children of all ages.

Hands-On Exhibits

With over 300 hands-on exhibits, Discovery Center offers an interactive and immersive learning experience for children. From exploring outer space to learning about the human body, the museum has something for everyone. Children can engage with exhibits on their own or participate in guided tours led by knowledgeable and engaging museum staff.

Spring into Science Activities

In addition to the regular exhibits, Discovery Center is hosting Spring into Science, a two-week event featuring special activities from Mondays to Fridays. These include planetarium shows at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm, live science shows at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, and science and springtime craft activities from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. These activities are included in the general admission fee and offer children a chance to learn and play in a fun and engaging way.

Special Spring Break Hours

Discovery Center is normally closed on Mondays, but to accommodate families with children on spring break, the museum will be open on March 20 and March 27. The museum will be open every day from March 20 through April 8 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except for Easter Sunday, April 9. Normal hours will resume on April 11.

Admission and Membership

Admission to Discovery Center is $10 for adults and children ages 2-17. Children age 1 and younger and Discovery Center Members get in for free. Admission to the temporary exhibit, Discovery Town, is an additional $1 for the public and free for museum members.
