The covid pandemic of 2020 forced officials to cancel the festival for 2020. In 2021, with the festival happening basically in the fall, there's a new issue presenting itself.

More and more performers have been pushing for increased safety measures as COVID-19 cases surge again in Wisconsin. Keep that in mind when checking out the guidelines for attending this year's fest. If we don't do what we can to keep these performers and each other safe, the whole thing gets cancelled again.

Summerfest 2021 Entry Requirements

If you want to go to Summerfest 2021, you're going to have to have a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. This also includes the Wednesday Night Preview Concerts in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

You'll be asked at the entry gate to show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card or proof of a negative test. An original vaccination card, a printed copy of a valid vaccination card or a negative test will be accepted. Digital documentation, like a screenshot or photo on a phone, is also acceptable.

If you aren’t vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test will need to be obtained within 72 hours (or three days) of attending Summerfest. Children younger than 12 will not have to present a negative COVID-19 test but will be required to wear a mask.

Masking for those older than 12 will not be required. However, they are recommended for indoor spaces, including the Summerfest store, first-aid stations and restrooms.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Summerfest's safety protocols and procedures could change based on CDC guidance. Be sure to check Summerfest.com for updates.

Summerfest will also be increasing the number of hand sanitizer stations on-site, employing
dedicated cleaning crews, conducting frequent cleanings in high touch areas, plus vernight deep-cleaning procedures. Also, all transactions will be cashless.
