No More License Needed For Illinois’ Non-Motorized Boaters
One less thing to worry about this Summer if you own a boat without a motor.
If you want to float your watercraft on an Illinois lake, river or pond, the DNR says a stamp is no longer needed.
I'd love to tell you it's because the state of Illinois wants to stop (over) charging us for everything but that wouldn't be true. The reason the state is doing away with the stamp/sticker for non-motorized watercraft is because, according to the DNR, too tough to attach to some kayaks and canoes.
Your $6 savings takes effect on June 1.
