Everyone's been to an egg hunt, but have you ever been to one that required a flashlight?

That's the key requirement for these nighttime egg hunts that are currently dotting Illinois.

Full disclosure, I have never been on an Easter Egg hunt. I do not know if they're actually fun for kids. I was grossed out by hard boiled eggs when I was a kid and the vinegar based PAAS egg dyeing kit literally stunk and made a huge mess.

The disdain for arts and crafts was passed along to me by my parents. They sure as heck weren't going to be hiding eggs in the backyard.

Easter egg hunts seem to be big business these days. This is a list of about 50 different community Easter Egg Hunts that only covers the western suburbs of Chicago.

One thing I definitely noticed as I went through the list was the amount of nighttime egg hunts that require a flashlight. Now that sounds like fun.

I'm currently on the lookout for an adult nighttime egg hunt but in the meantime take the kids to one of these nighttime hunts. Don't forget the flashlight.
