New Rockford Restaurant Set to Open and Is Now Hiring

Every day I drive by the former TGI Friday's location at the corner of Perryville and Harrison in Rockford. For months I have watched it transform into the new Sweet Basil Café and have been thinking, "it's got to be close to opening, right?"

The outside of the building has been painted, a large outdoor deck has been added, and for the past few weeks I have had a close eye on it looking for the "opening soon" sign. Last week I finally saw it....

See that sign hanging from the deck that has flopped over and is mostly covered? It says "Opening Soon" and "Now Hiring". I know you can't see that as proof, but trust me it is there. I saw it last week, but when I went to  take a pic of it today, this is how it appears, (and I couldn't trudge through the snow to set it right again. LOL).

I first scoped Sweet Basil Cafe's menu when the announcement was  made last year that it was coming to Rockford. Since that day my mouth has been watering every time I think about trying some of their Cinnamon Roll French Toast. Sweet Basil Cafe's website still does not have Rockford's "official" menu available, nor does it has an opening date listed, but since they are now hiring it HAS to be coming soon.
