In the June edition of ‘Ask the Mayor,’ Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey and Michael Koolidge discussed the controversial RHA plan to build an affordable housing development on the city's East side on South New Towne Drive, just off East State Street.

In this highlight clip, the Mayor denies a number of rumors about the proposal, including that he has any personal financial stake in the project or that there was a "connection" between the Gorman Amerock hotel proposal and New Towne.

Morrissey specifically says Winnebago County Board member John Sweeney, Jr. should be ashamed of himself for what the Mayor says are outrageous comments:

Remember, once a month, Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey comes to the 1440 WROK studio to take your questions on his “Ask the Mayor” program hosted by Michael Koolidge. The Mayor will talk with Michael about issues impacting the city and its residents and will take comments and questions from our listeners.

The next edition of “Ask The Mayor” airs Friday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
