Man Who Barricaded Himself In Home, Surrenders To Police

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) — A man who barricaded himself in a suburban Chicago apartment before surrendering f hours later has been charged with felony counts predatory criminal sexual assault, child pornography and other charges. Police in Crystal Lake say they went to the house in response to a call of a burglary in progress when they were confronted by 24-year-old Matthew R. Reder of McHenry. They say Reder threatened officers with a knife before retreating to a bathroom of the home. Police said Reder, who was being sought on arrest warrants from McHenry and DuPage counties, was taken to McHenry County Jail.
