Machesney Park Road Construction Begins

Machesney Park officials are alerting motorists that construction will result in a long-term road closure.

Mitchell Road will be closed in both directions from now until mid-July 2014. This will allow construction crews access to both the east and west sides of Mitchell Road for tree removal and construction of the roadway.

The closure is part of the recently announced Route 173-West Lane Road improvements. Detour routes are clearly marked. Officials suggest using Anjali Way or Vaughndale Drive as alternate entrances to the neighborhood.
