Loves Park 6 Year Old Boy Shows Sweet Support For Cops

Hudson Stern, who'll probably be a police officer himself someday, invited area police by the house for some treats.

Maybe it's just me, but in an era where every time you turn around you find someone outraged and/or protesting about something, Wednesday's efforts by this boy and his family to pay tribute to the men and women of area law enforcement was a beautiful thing to see.

Hudson Stern has been obsessed with police officers for the last year, according to his mom, Angela. She said it started when he received a toy squad car for his birthday.

"He just spends his days running up and down our street, patrolling our neighborhood," she said. "He just loves everything about our police officers."

Hudson came up with the idea to set up a lemonade stand and offer donuts and lemonade to Rockford's police officers.

Police Chief Dan O'Shea was one of the guests that came to visit.

Angela said Hudson's uncle is a detective for the Belvidere Police Department, so careers law enforcement runs in the family.
