Here is some exciting news about another Rockfordian being in the spotlight in a professional sport. In fact, you may have seen this person golfing in Rockford, specifically, at  Aldeen Golf Club.

One place you will likely never find me is in a golf tournament, especially not the PGA or anything closely related. For Chris French though, it actually happening. It's not too much of a surprise considering how much Chris spends around golf, he's the Assistant Golf Professional/Operations Manager at Aldeen Golf Club. You won't find him there as of this article because he's in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

FORE!

Rockford Park District shared this exciting news on Facebook. Adding how it all happened and the qualifying this awesome opportunity entailed.

Chris qualified for this event back in September and finished 11th in the Southern California PGA Section Championship to qualify.

The Park District said there are over 300 golfers and, as of this article, Chris is tied for 28th place, at 1 shot over, with five other players.

No matter how he finishes we are so proud of his accomplishments. He is a great person to represent Rockford and we will all benefit from the knowledge and expertise he will bring back to the community. Good luck Chris!

You can watch the PGA Professional Championship GOLF Channel on Wednesday (4/28) at 3 pm.
