The 86th Academy Awards are just over a week away. If you're like me (and I know I am), you're probably woefully prepared for the biggest night in show business.

Why am I woefully prepared? I haven't seen a single nominated film. Zip. Zero. Nada.

Now, how am I supposed to know what these fine films are about? I could Wikipedia the nominated films. I could search for theaters that may still be running one or more of them. I could comb through online databases of motion pictures looking for a synopsis or reviews.

Nah. How about we let some future nominees take us through the Best Picture offerings?

The YouTube channel CineFix teamed up with the website Mom.me to present a re-enactment of scenes from the movies up for the night's biggest award. The four-minute clip covers eight of the nine nominees.

After watching this, I'm afraid I might prefer the kids to the grownup actors. Take a look.
