Due to a listeria scare, Kellogg's is recalling 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat waffles, according to wifr.com.

If, like me, you're not completely aware of how listeria affects your body, read this from Kellogg's website:

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

At present, Kellogg's says no illnesses have been reported. This is just a move to remain committed to the safety of their food products and their customers.
