Jon Meacham: The American Odyssey of George H. W. Bush [AUDIO]

Noted author Jon Meacham has joined the show a number of times in the past. This week he returned to discuss his new book, Destiny and Power, about the life of George H. W. Bush.

Meacham received the Pulitzer Prize for his 2008 biography of Andrew Jackson, American Lion. An executive editor at Random House, he is also the author of the New York Times bestseller Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power. Meacham teaches at Vanderbilt University and at The University of the South.

The new book draws on President Bush’s personal diaries; on the diaries of his wife, Barbara; and on extraordinary access to Bush and to his family. Meacham helps to chart the thoughts, decisions, and emotions of our 41^st President.
