The study was conducted by Niche, which considered factors such as cost of living, crime rates, employment rates, access to bars and restaurants, commute times, and ethnic diversity.

Naperville ranked highest, which is almost its own city, with a legitimate downtown and so many parks; even the most overcaffeinated child would be worn out by day's end.

Next is Clarendon Hills, slightly smaller but just as polished. The schools are the big draw and a great reason any young family would consider laying down roots.
