
Byron’s Caden Considine Wins SI National High School Boys Athlete of the Week
After a record-breaking performance in the Illinois 3A high school football championship, Byron High School Football player Caden Considine can officially say he is Sports Illustrated's National Boys Athlete of the Week, too.
Congratulations to Caden Considine of Byron (Illinois) football for winning last week’s National High School Boys Athlete of the Week poll. Considine ran for a Class 3A state championship game record 367 yards and three touchdowns while amassing 430 total yards of offense in a 56-50 victory over Unity. The senior also had a key pass breakup in the end zone in the final seconds.

Dominating Stats Behind the Honor
Considine was nominated on December 2 for the week of November 24 through November 30, for his role in helping secure the school's third state championship in three years and fourth in school history.
How the Voting Played Out
Caden finished with over half the vote (52%). Interestingly, Byron's opponent in the 3A final, Tolono Unity, featured a fantastic performance from quarterback Dane Eisenmenger. Eisenmenger finished second in voting with just over 35% of the votes.
