I'm a big fan of comedy roasts. The New York Friars Club started them back in the 1940s, but they didn't become a "thing" until the Dean Martin's celebrity roast specials in the 1970s. Like anything, the popularity died down after a few years. Then, Comedy Central brought them back in the early 2000s. That's when I became a fan. Once again, they became a "thing." Now, they're huge on streaming.

The Comedy Cabin is a comedy club located in Janesville. They bring in a great lineup of local, regional, national, and celebrity comedians. Sometimes, this comedy club will do theme nights. I love this because it brings out some great creativity from the comics involved. I saw one show that really caught my eye.

It's The Roast of Wisconsin happening on June 27th. It's set up just like the comedy roasts you see on television. The Comedy Cabin is bringing in a group of comedians from other states to roast Wisconsin. Being from Illinois, I'm a big fan of the concept. I am very surprised that a comedy club in Wisconsin is bringing in a show like this, but I think it will be very funny. Let's face it, the state of Wisconsin and cheeseheads are easy targets.
