Apparently, This Illinois Fast Food Joint Has The Slowest Drive-Thru
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Did CBS News really find the slowest fast food restaurant in Illinois? I beg to differ!
I would consider myself a "connoisseur of drive-thrus" with the amount of time I spend in line at McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, and Taco Bell every week. So I take this ranking very seriously.
CBS News came out with this study where they ranked a ton of fast food joints based on drive-thru efficiency. I don't totally agree with all of it, but let's see what you think about the list!

From fastest to slowest in completing customer orders, here's how they rank.
- Taco Bell - 222 seconds
- Dunkin' - 238 seconds
- KFC - 239 seconds
- Arby's - 261 seconds
- Burger King - 266 seconds
- Hardee's - 272 seconds
- Wendy's - 275 seconds
- Mcdonald's - 291 seconds
- Chick-fil-A - 325 seconds
Okay, here's my problem: I've waited at Taco Bell for a good 20 minutes before even getting to the pickup window. That could rank lower on the list, change my mind!
Dunkin' is pretty accurate.. I only know that because my body runs on Dunkin' five days a week. I'm in and out of the drive-thru within two minutes, especially if I order through the app!
Now let's talk about Chick-Fil-A. That's the main issue here.
Does Chick-Fil-A Actually Have The Slowest Drive-Thru?
This entire study seems inaccurate because they're not basing it off of how many customers they get through per hour. If that's how they gathered their data then Chick-Fil-A would dominate the charts!
"Chick-fil-A has the slowest drive-thru time of 10 popular restaurants, at 325 seconds, or about 5 1/2 minutes, on average. Wendy's, whose founder Dave Thomas is credited with pioneering the drive-thru concept, was also among the slowest of the restaurants surveyed at 275 seconds, or almost 5 minutes." [qsrmagazine]

Chick-Fil-A pushes customers to utilize their drive-thru because it's the fastest compared to walking inside the restaurant to order. They might have a huge line of cars backed up, but those vehicles are in and out within minutes!
