The word is Portillo's is going to bust out a limited-time breakfast menu for the first time in its storied 62-year history.
A First in Portillo’s 62-Year History
Portillo's posted a social media teaser on April 1, saying it wasn't an April Fool's Joke.
Kicking off on Tuesday, April 15, and running throughout the summer from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. daily at five Illinois Portillo's locations:
Where You Can Get It
- 520 W. Taylor Street in Chicago
- 155 South Route 83 in Elmhurst
- 15900 South Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park
- 1155 Brook Forest Avenue in Shorewood
- 8832 West Dempster Street in Niles
Sorry, Rockford didn't make the cut, but if things go well, it could make its way to Forest City and all the other Portillo's locations across America.
Portillo's is testing customers' thoughts on its breakfast options, which include exclusive breakfast sandwiches and collaborations with other Illinois mainstays, like Stan's Donuts and Metropolis Coffee.
What’s on the Breakfast Menu
Here are a few standout breakfast items:
- Polish Sausage, Egg & Cheese
- Pepper, Egg & Cheese
- Portillo's Chocolate Cake Donut w/Stan's Donuts
- Loaded Scramble
- Hash Brown Bites
- Chocolate Cake Iced Coffee w/ Metropolis Coffee
Believe it or not, an Italian beef breakfast sandwich will also be on the menu.
Portillo’s Isn’t Afraid to Try New Things
It's not the first time Portillo's has tried something new. Always looking to innovate, they opened a pick-up-only restaurant in Orland Park and went cashless in the drive-thru just a few years ago.
