You already know Chicago is one of America's premier food destinations, and now this list only reinforces the Windy City's reputation.

Four Local Spots Land on OpenTable's Top 100

Based on more than 10 million verified diner reviews, OpenTable found that 61% of Americans have chosen a destination because of its dining scene.

It makes sense when you consider how many visitors head to Chicago just to eat, and even more so when you realize 60% of summer travelers specifically book a hotel because of its restaurant.

The Rise of "Destination Dining" Without Staying the Night

In fact, 92% of people surveyed by OpenTable said they've eaten at a hotel restaurant without actually staying there. I count myself among them, as I've done it many times.

It also appears travel is up, with hotel reservations increasing 13% compared to last year. I love food, and I love to travel, so that's a combination I can get behind.

  • Cindy's Rooftop at the Chicago Athletic Association
