$20 to $2 Million: Des Plaines Woman Hits Lottery Jackpot

A Des Plaines woman is celebrating a life-changing lottery win after a $20 instant ticket landed her a $2M top prize, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at ZJ's Pantry Plus Liquors in Des Plaines, Illinois.  The store sold the winning $2,000,000 Maximum Multiplier Instant Ticket.

The lucky woman said she was stunned when she discovered she had won the game's top prize.

"I couldn't believe I won, especially from a store I frequent," she said.  "I've won $10,000 in the past, but this is my first top prize."

This win certainly takes her previous lottery luck to a whole new level.  While a $10,000 prize is still awesome, turning a $20 ticket into a $2M payday is a much bigger jackpot to scream about!

The winner already has plans for her newfound fortune, too.  She said she hopes to invest in a new house and take a vacation to celebrate the unexpected windfall.

"I just feel so blessed from this win," she said.  "I'm going to treat myself - a trip to the Big Apple sounds like a perfect celebration."

While the winner gets to decide how to put her $2M to work, the business that sold the lucky lottery ticket is also getting a nice payday.  ZJ's Plus Pantry will get a $20,000 bonus from the Illinois Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

With a new home and a trip to New York City on this lucky lady's wish list, it sounds like she has been waiting for this moment her whole life.
