Minnesota Woman Now Holds Multiple Records For Longest Fingernails
Did you know that a Minnesota woman actually holds multiple records for the longest nails ever?
This story blows my mind, because when I have "long" nails, I can't do sh**! Seriously though. The longer they are, the harder it is to do things.
Meanwhile, this Minnesota woman hasn't cut her nails in nearly 30 years and they are 1,306.58 cm long. That's nearly 43 FEET! And I'm over hear whining about, what, an inch?
I can't stop thinking about how she manages everyday tasks like texting, typing, getting dressed, and doing her makeup with her incredibly long fingernails. The Guinness Book of World Records recently released a video where they posed a similarly curious and super valid question: "How do you go to the bathroom?"
According to the article on the Guinness World Record page, Diana Armstrong says she is restricted in what she can do with her hands and often uses her feet to pick up clothes off the floor or to open the refrigerator. She has also given up on driving and she steers clear of zippers.

The reason for growing her nails out is actually quite beautiful and inspiring: After tragically losing her daughter back in 1997, her fingernails became a living memory. She tells Guinness that her daughter actually did her nails the night before she passed and she just couldn't bring herself to cut them.
Now that Diana's nails have reached such extreme lengths, it takes around five hours to paint each one. She told Guinness that painting them is such a laborious process that she only has her nails done once every four to five years. It takes between 15 and 20 bottles of nail polis AND a woodworking tool for filing. WOW!
Fun fact, Diana actually holds two titles, the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female) and the longest fingernails on a pair of hands ever (female). She beat out the previous record for longest nails by a whopping 573.03 cm.
