‘Groundhog Day’ Cast To Reunite For The First Time In Illinois This Week
The cast of the classic movie "Groundhog Day" will soon be in for a reunion.
Groundhog Day is February 2nd, and it's the perfect season to watch the movie. In fact, you won't have to go far to see the cast back together again.
According to NBC Chicago, the cast of the movie "Groundhog Day" is set to reunite for the first time ever at Chicago's Navy Pier on (of course) February 2nd at Harry Caray's Tavern.
The reunion will for sure include:
- Brian Doyle Murray (Bill Murray's brother): who plays Mayor Buster Green in the movie
- Stephen Tobolowsky (Ned Ryerson in the movie)
- Marita Geraghty (Nancy Taylor in the movie)
- David Pasquesi (the psychiatrist in the movie)
- Peggy Roeder (plays the piano teacher in the movie)
- Richard Henzel (plays the DJ in the movie)
- Ken Hudson Campbell ("the man in the hallway" in the movie)
Bill Murray might be there. That's neither confirmed nor denied yet. Organizers say he could make a surprise appearance.
It looks like it will be a real "Groundhog Day" celebration on Navy Pier, with food and drinks inspired by the movie's 'Tip Top Cafe', ice sculptures like the ones in the movie, and the Sable Hotel on Navy Pier will be the 'Pennsylvanian Hotel' for the day, another nod to the movie.
Obviously There Will Be A Groundhog
"Chicago Harry" (the groundhog) will emerge from a tree stump at 3:00 p.m. to predict how many more weeks of winter we have left.
With any luck, Harry will give us an early spring. We deserve it.
