CNN and Fox Business were among the outlets reporting today that Tesla just issued an urgent recall on almost all Tesla vehicles. It has to do with concerns over Tesla's Autopilot system.

CNN Business said that the National Highway Transportation Safety Board said it "can give drivers a false sense of security and be easily misused in certain dangerous situations when a Tesla’s technology may be unable to safely navigate the road".

What Tesla vehicles are recalled?

The National Highway Transportation Safety Board bulletin said that almost 6 years of vehicles need service including these:

TESLA/MODEL 3/2017-2023
TESLA/MODEL S/2012-2023
TESLA/MODEL X/2016-2023
TESLA/MODEL Y/2020-2023

The bulletin goes on to say "when Autosteer is engaged, and the driver does not maintain responsibility for vehicle operation and is unprepared to intervene as necessary or fails to recognize when Autosteer is canceled or not engaged, there may be an increased risk of a crash."

The update will reportedly be applied by Tesla dealers to these vehicles free-of-charge. Make sure to check out the official NHTSA statement for details and updates.
