I am not a lawyer or a politician, but I do quite a bit of research which led me on a quest to uncover the new legislation passed in 2023 that will go into effect on January 1, 2024. I found several including one law in Missouri that was already supposed to be in effect, but isn't for a specific reason. Here's what's changing in Missouri as soon as 2024 begins.

Missouri's minimum wage is going up slightly.

The Missouri Department of Labor says that the current minimum wage in Missouri is $12. As of January 1, 2024, it will rise slightly to $12.30 based on cost of living increases. For the record, that's one of the smallest increases for the past half dozen years.

Missouri House Bill 417 gives a $1,500 tax break to businesses who hire an apprentice or intern and pay them at least minimum wage.

The Missouri "Hands-Free Law" technically went into effect in August, but Spectrum News reported that the financial part of the state wasn't prepared for it, so now the $150 fines won't go into effect until January 1 of 2025.
