The more things stay the same, the more they change...or something like that. This principle applies to the weather in both Missouri and Illinois and is proven again as weather forecasters have once again changed their forecast for the region now saying it will be way different than normal for the end of 2023.

This new 3-month outlook from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center and forecasters from NWS Duluth. Here's something to know before you stare at this new map they've just shared. The short version is this shows the probability of temperatures being warmer than normal for October, November and December of 2023.

With both Missouri and Illinois both under the very orange part of the map, the expectation now is that temperatures for the end of 2023 will be much warmer than usual. I am not complaining, by the way, as I am not a fan of winter.

As for precipitation, the trend is now that Fall for parts of Missouri and Illinois will be a little wetter than normal.

There are other elements at play from NOAA's new Fall forecast for Missouri and Illinois, but the simplified explanation is the 70's and 80's we're still seeing every now and then during months when temps are normally in the 50's and 60's is not an anomaly.
