When 2 Illinois Men Got Lost in the Woods – Something Found Them

It was supposed to be a date with two girls they had met, but for two Illinois men it became something completely different and terrifying. After they became lost in the woods trying to locate the home of the ladies, something found them, but it wasn't what they were hoping for.

The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization have a detailed eyewitness testimony from one of two Illinois men that saw something bizarre on September 28, 1968. It happened approximately 4 miles east of Carpentersville, Illinois. That area was even more heavily-wooded and remote 56 years ago than it is now.

When the two Illinois men realized they were lost and turned around to try and return to Carpentersville. This was between 9p and 9:30p that night. That's when they felt a chill when they realized 'something' had found them:

"As we came to a stop just off the road, before we started to back up onto the main road, a creature about as tall as the Ford van we were in started to cross the side road from our left to right about 15 to 20 feet in front of the van. It had a long stride, stood upright, was covered with dark brownish to like black straight hair about 6 to maybe 10 inches long in some spots"

They estimated that the size of whatever it was they saw would make it strong enough to rip the doors off the van they were in. They looked at each other wondering "WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT?"

The creature appeared to try and chase them, but they fortunately were able to leave the area before it succeeded in catching them. Both men knew they saw something paranormal, but neither can tell you to this day exactly what it was. However, the memory of that night remains clear and persists more than 5 decades later.
