You would think that having TV food celebrity Guy Fieri visit your diner would be a pot full of gold. He's visited many eateries in Illinois, but there are a half dozen who had to close their doors after he stopped by.

I found all of the Illinois stop for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the website Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Locations. Guy Fieri knows his food and he knows that Illinois has some legendary places. The fact that he featured these Illinois diners on his show did not save them however.

Let's be clear that these Illinois restaurants and diners did not close because Guy Fieri featured them on his famous TV show. If anything, they closed because of the struggles that many restaurants have faced over the past several years. If Guy has you on his show and you don't survive, it's not his fault.
