Illinois’ Most Legendary Restaurant is bringing back a Menu Item

A fan-favorite menu item is coming back to the most popular restaurant chain in Illinois, and I can't wait to get my hands on one this fall!

According to NBC Chicago, Portillo's is adding the delicious Salted Carmel Shakes back to their menus for the fall! In an article on their site, NBC Chicago says...

"...Salted Carmel Shakes will be available at participating Portillo's locations while supplies last, the restaurant said in a post. The shake will remain on menus through Oct. 30...According to Portillo's the tasty treat -- a classic vanilla shake swirled with salted caramel -- represents the "salty and sweet combination of fall." The drink joins Portillo's current lineup of five shakes, including a Chocolate Cake Shake, a Chocolate Shake, a Vanilla Shake and a Strawberry Shake."

This is the kind of Fall Treat for me, no pumpkin-spiced lattes. Portillo's is a taste of Chicago wherever you are, sadly for us here in the Quincy area of Illinois, we have to drive an hour and a half to Springfield to get to Portillo's. There is nothing better than a Potillo's jumbo Chicago Style Hot Dog with Cheese Fries and a Chocolate Cake Shake, but I will absolutely be trading in the Chocolate Cake Shake for a Salted Carmel Shake this fall. Also, don't sleep on the Maxwell Street Polish Sausage from Potillo's, yes the hot dogs and burgers are terrific but if you don't try the Maxwell Street Polish at least once in your life you are missing out, trust me, I am an expert.
