Illinois Residents Should Check Their Fridge, 155,000 Recalled

Normally, a recall notice involving a refrigerator wouldn't be all that interesting to anyone who doesn't have the brand of fridge being recalled. However, in this case, the reason for the recall might cause something like you see in the photo above to happen to you.

I guess if you're super-serious about dieting, fridge and freezer door handles that come off when you pull on them would be a pretty decent diet aid. GE Appliances Is Recalling 6 Models Of Free-Standing French Door Refrigerators Sold Nationwide, Including Here In Illinois

Louisville-based G.E. has received 71 reports of freezer drawer handles detaching, resulting in 37 injuries, including three serious falls, the company said Thursday in a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Over 155,000 of these fridges were sold between February of 2020 through January of this year at places like Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy, with a price-point of between between $1,900 and $2,500.
