The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office has announced a series of restrictions effective July 4 on the Rock River.

On July 4, there will be a no wake zone in effect from the Whitman Street bridge south to the Fordam Dam from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Also that day, there will be a no wake zone from 6 to 9 p.m. at Shorewood Park during the Ski Broncs Show.

A portion of the Rock River will be closed due to the annual July 4 fireworks display. The river will be closed 9 p.m. until the completion of the fireworks south of the Chestnut Street bridge to the Fordam Dam and from the Morgan Street bridge north to the Fordam Dam.

Finally, another no wake zone will be in effect 9 p.m. to midnight for the entire Rock River in Winnebago County north of the Whitman Street Bridge.
