A rough off-season for the Fighting Illini and coach John Groce just got worse.

A few weeks after finding out starting point guard Tracy Abrams would miss his second-straight season, the new arrives that forward Darius Paul has been suspended following his arrest during a team trip to France.

Coach John Groce says Paul is out "indefinitely" for a violation of team rules. His status with the team will be evaluated after the Illini return to Champaign.

WCIA-TV reported the 6-foot-8 junior was arrested after police received multiple reports that Paul was damaging vehicles and breaking windows. A police superintendent reported that Paul was "very, very drunk." He was charged with vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Paul also was suspended in 2014 for what Groce called "multiple transgressions." He played one season at Western Illinois before transferring to Champaign. His future, however, is very much up in the air.

On the brighter side, Fighting Illini football is less than three weeks away!!
