The biggest FREE food festival in the country kicks off this week in Chicago. Here's what you need to know.

ABC7 - The 39th Annual Taste of Chicago food festival kicks off Wednesday in Grant Park. Hailed as "The World's Largest Food Festival," the event aims to celebrate and support the amazing culinary skills of local recipes and eateries.

WHEN : Taste runs through Sunday

Weekday hours: 11 am- 9 pm

Weekend hours: 10 am - 9 pm

WHERE: Grant Park located at 337 E Randolph between Monroe and Balboa

COST: Entry is free but food costs tickets.

In my past experience, 20-30 dollars worth of tickets should be enough to fill you up.

It's a great time and the weather is supposed to cooperate and while you're there you can explore the city.
