Free event. Cool robots. Refreshments served. Sounds like a nice evening to me.

Students in Rock Valley College’s Introduction to Robotics and Automation class will be showing off what they've trained their robots to do at a public event. The demonstration will take place Wednesday, December 3 in room G-17 at the Woodward Technology Center on the RVC main campus on Mulford from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Officials say RVC robots will be performing tasks like crushing and disposing aluminum cans, mixing drinks and “tending” bar. Plus they'll be doing precision building with Lincoln Logs as well.

Sure, sure, it all sounds impressive. But let me know when technology advances far enough to recreate Johnny 5 from "Short Circuit":
