Dates Announced For Strong Neighborhoods Days Block Parties

The Rockford Police Department and the United Way of Rock River Valley has released the dates and locations for it's summer series of block parties. 

The Strong Neighborhoods Days block parties provide informal opportunities to meet and engage with district police officers. Each of the parties will take place on Thursdays from noon till 2 pm at the following locations.

• June 9 - Revell Strong Neighborhoods House (1233 Revell Ave)
• June 16 - Irving Strong Neighborhoods Hous (312 Irving Ave)
• June 23 - 8th Avenue Strong Neighborhoods House (908 8th Ave)
• June 30 - Cameron Ave & Idlewood Terrace
• July 7 - Creek View Rd & E. Lawn Dr

Block party activities include giveaways, demonstrations of a bomb robot and tours of the Strong Neighborhoods Houses. United Way will provide food catered by Zammuto's and give out free T-shirts.

The Strong Neighborhood Houses programming includes financial literacy and mental health resources for families and summer activities for youth.
