According to the website thetravel.com, Chicago has been ranked as the 3rd best foodie city in the United States behind only Honolulu, Hawaii in 1st place and Nashville taking 2nd place. Chicago ranks just ahead of some great food cities like Philadelphia, New York, and New Orleans which all made the top ten on this list, but what makes Chicago top 3 worthy? On the site they say...

"This city in Illinois is famous for its Chicago-style pizza which has a thick crust, baked in a pan, and layered with meats and cheeses. Besides this obvious choice to try while visiting Chicago, travelers will also love the local Italian beef sandwiches, flaming saganaki (fried cheese), and a Chicago-style hot dog."
