On a sunny and peaceful Sunday afternoon, the community of Roscoe, IL was hit with some scary news.

According to The Village of Roscoe Police Department, a body was found at around 1:42pm.

With a beautiful weather day, there are lots of people out on the bike trails and walking paths throughout the area. The path along Hononegah, Stone Bridge Trail, and Kelly Meyers Park, were packed all day with temps in the 90's.

Unfortunately some folk out for a stroll came across something, no one wants to find...the body a person that had passed. At 1:42pm a male body was discovered on Kelley Meyers Park.

The identity of the male has yet to be released, so law enforcement could first speak with the family. The finding of this body does NOT appear to be any threat to the publics safety, this is an isolated incident.

I love riding my bike on the trails up in the Roscoe/Rockton area and that is always a "concern" I guess when riding the trails. You can really go deep and find some amazingly "hidden" areas up there. Plenty of fox, turkey, random animals on the paths or sure.

Facebook is like the playground at school when it coms to gossip and "rumors" so as this story unfolds and we begin to learn more of the situation, visit the Village of Roscoe Police Department Facebook page for specific and correct information.
