Arrests Made After Reports of Public Indecency in Winnebago County Forest Preserves
Winnebago County Sheriff's Police have have made 10 arrests after recently receiving reports of public indecency at area forest preserves.
According to police, the arrests came after deputies conducted a two-week undercover investigation.
Arrested at Espencheid Forest Preserve in Cherry Valley were David W. Wedig, 62, of Rochelle; Rodger E. Atkins, 60 of Beloit, Wis.; and Paul D. Welliver, 75, of Rockford.
All three were charged with public indecency.
Arrested at Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve in Rockford were Clarence E. Miracle, 61, of Rockford; and James E. Neutz, 50, of Cherry Valley.
Both were charged with public indecency. Miracle also was charged with resisting a peace officer.
Arrested at Kishwaukee Gorge Forest Preserve in Rockford were Russell R. Sergent, 44, of Muskego, Wis.; Roy G. Rummel, 69, of Winnebago; Paul A. White, 49, of Rockford; and Robert F. Hessel, 53, of Rockford.
All four were charged with public indecency.
Arrested and charged with public indecency at Kishwaukee River West Forest Preserve in Rockford was Thomas W. Nowak, 74, of Rockford.
